The Rimmel Moisture Renew VoxBox

I recently received the Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in the shade As You Want Victoria from Influenster for review.  As usual I had to try it out the second I opened the box … so here’s my first impression/review of this neat-o new product.

First off I am going to be 100% honest and confess that I am not big on having lipstick/lip gloss on my lips since I am too lazy to reapply and I usually have chapped lips which is not a cute look with lipstick over top. That being said I did wear this the first day I received it even though the color was a bit too bright for my personal preference.

The application was easy and smooth and I have to say that I have never had such a creamy lipstick. I really thought that because it was so creamy that the lipstick would run but after about 3 hours of use it did not run which was impressive. The pigmentation was definitely there, this is NOT a sheer lipstick, this is definitely for those who like to be bold.  Another important factor that I think a lot of folks leave out is smell, this lipstick was great because the scent was not overpowering and barely noticeable which is always a plus.

Final Thoughts: I would definitely buy this product in stores but in a different shade. This lipstick comes in a series of great colors, I would definitely love to try  the Vintage Pink shade! Also the price is beyond reasonable with the price point in Walmart being $5.47.  I think that if you’re in the market for a new lipstick, you should give the Rimmel London Moisture Renew a shot!

Olay Fresh Effects Products {Va-Va-Vivid! Powered Contour Cleansing System}

I recently participated in a VoxBox in which I received Fresh Effects face wash (click here for Review) and I was among the top participants for Olay and I received a free box of goodies thanks to Olay and Influenster. This is the first in a series reviewing all the products I received, which included:

• Shine, Shine Go Away! Shine Minimizing Cleanser
• Swipe Out! Refreshing Make-up Removal Clothes

Here is my review of the Va-Va-Vivid! Powered Contour Cleansing System which from her on out I will call the VVV Cleansing System. The VVV Cleansing system claims to “Liberate your skin from dirt, oil, and makeup for fresh, fearless, unstoppable freshness. An ingeniously designed power brush to get around your face’s contours—the T-zone, hairline, and nose—for a 400% better clean compared to basic cleansing.”

I have been using this for about a week now, and much like my Olay Pro X which I purchased previously with my own money it really brought up all the dirt, oil and makeup that had seeped into my pores and skin, causing a few minor breakouts on my face. This was expected as this is the usual way my face reacts to this type of product; I did notice that my cleanser really foamed up better when I used this product on my face. The rubber bristles of the brush made it easy to clean and left me satisfied with the level of cleanliness, I am very cautious about putting anything that might cause a break-out on my face.  Also, I felt my face was very clean and makeup free after washing my face with this device, the machine itself is very easy to maneuver the triangle shape allows it to get into the areas around my nose and mouth.

My only gripe about this product is the turn-on and turn-off function, it is downright difficult to turn this puppy off after I use it, I almost broke one of my acrylic nails doing it the other night. It may be a user problem but it’s annoying nonetheless.  I wish it had a switch instead of a push down button that would make this so much better. Also remember to keep the directions as you will need them to replace the batteries. This does not come with replacement head capabilities so there will come a time when you need to replace this but for the price I wouldn’t worry too much about that.

Overall I give this product thumbs up, it’s easy to use and very affordable, if you have minor concerns about your acne this would be a good product to buy especially if it is your first face cleansing system.

Dr. Scholl’s® For Her High Heel Insoles

So this is my 3rd post in my series from the Paradise Vox Box. Last night was my anniversary so I decided to dress up and wear my highest heels out to dinner. Of course these heels ALWAYS kill my feet. I inserted the high-heel insoles that were sent to me via Influenster’s Vox Box program and hoped that these would make wearing my Cole Haan’s bearable. I was initially worried that the thickness of the soles would make my shoes pinch my toes but it did not, thankfully.

So out to dinner we went, we were out for about 4 hours and I have to say that even with a previous injury to my calf muscle wearing these heels was much more bearable than usual. The insole padded the front sole of my foot which is where I always have the most pain after wearing high heels. My heels being as high as they were of course I had some discomfort but it was greatly reduced by these insoles. I had no swelling at all, which was a nice change of pace since my feet are usually out of commission for a day after I wear my sky high heels.

I also wore the same heels again today for about 2 hours and again had minimal discomfort wearing my heels. I totally recommend this product to anyone who wears sky high heels, I also would bet my bottom dollar that wearing these with smaller heels makes them feel like you’re wearing the most comfortable heels ever!

Paradise in a box! – Influenster VoxBox

The time has arrived again for me to try new and exciting products sent to me via Influenster’s VoxBox program. I will be posting here what I think about these products as I go along with the program. Although these things were sent to me FREE of charge, I will be giving my 100% honest opinion on these products. So keep an eye out for my review of these products. There are some things in this box I would never have purchased with my own money but what I have learned from previous VoxBox programs is that those could be the best products in the box. I’ll keep you all posted on my opinions & such!
